Incorrect Password Error During Remote Login (*VPN Users) Follow
Occasionally there are connection issues when working remotely. Within this HP Support Article you will find steps that may resolve an issue preventing you from logging in to your computer when working away from the office.
*This article is specifically tailored for VPN users receiving an error regarding an incorrect password.
STEPS:
1) Boot the laptop
2) When the Windows login prompt appears, look for the following icons:
-- This means you are not connected to a network
-- This means that you are connected to a wireless network
-- This means that you are connected to a wired network
If you are connected to a wired or wireless network please proceed to the step 3. If not please proceed to step 2a:
2a) Plug in a network cable to the laptop if you use a wired connection. If you use a wireless connection, click the globe with the no symbol:
and then select your wireless network and click connect:
After you've joined a network (wired or wireless) proceed to step 3
3) After joining a network and returning to the login prompt, click the VPN icon to the left of the network icon:
and sign in normally at the Checkpoint Prompt:
After signing into the VPN, proceed to step 4
4) Authenticate to Windows:
