To keep city accounts safe and by proxy the data we work with, the city has deployed multi-factor authentication (MFA).  

What’s MFA?  It is a method used to prove your identity by conveying something you know and something you have.  For example, providing a password and confirming that you are attempting to log in via a device you own (such as a smartphone).

How will this affect employees?  Simply put, when you interact with a city asset such as a workstation, email, or VPN you will need to input a password and acknowledge that you are attempting to log in (via a mobile application or YubiKey.
